Confirmation

Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation – and is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, a person becomes a full member of the Church, the Body of Christ.

Confirmation makes a person a full member of the Church and consequently confers a full sharing in the life of the parish community. It is right that the whole parish community be involved in the process. At Nativity, we welcome our candidates into our faith community and we support them with our prayers, concern, encouragement and our active participation in the process.

Anyone interested in becoming a Roman Catholic becomes part of the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) or any adult Catholic who has not received all the Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. For more information see the website under RCIA.
